Diffrentiate Run UmpLife on IE n Firefox

bro admin..try run umpLife kt lain2 browser(especially IE n Firefox) the result is diffrent..
hope can reduce the difference.

try u put large picture..n see the result..if we are using IE ..it show all the picture..but if we are using Firefox only half of picture will appear

Try changing the timeout time for Firefox, maybe that will solve your problem. Firefox's much better in terms of speed, and use fasterfox if you have to.

Half the picture showing means only half the picture was loaded. And if the connection is slow (usual case for UMP), when you refresh the page, it will load the image from the cache, instead of the site, and since you only got half the image loaded on the cache.

You'll see only half of it no matter how many times you refresh until the connection perks up. To try and reload from the site, just re-enter the url into the address bar and enter.

I use firefox 3 and IE to browse through UMP life forum.But no difference.All is in good view condition.It's better to update your mozilla to firefox 3 if you are using the old version - firefox 2.

Google chrome is a beta web browser. It still have its own weakness as some of the website still cant support the google chrome.

So, if you want a clearer answer, post a screenshot or something. Its not like anyone here is psychic (as far as I know).

And Google Chrome is showing promise (clean interface, lots of neat features) but it still can't compete with Firefox and its wide variety of addons. Give it a few iterations before it can stand up there with the big boys.

yup, i try with IE, opera, and mozilla adi, really got different with the image. ya, the big size image can b viewed completely, but not for opera n mozilla.

actually this forum is best view in IE or mozilla. as i state b4 at HERE , and another problem is the emoticon cant be well functioned in OPERA browser.

y such problem happened? for example when u try surf Elearn website with other web browser, can it b viewed?the answer is NO, this is bcos the website developer use the "base IE coding" to build the website (these coding just can be modified by webmaster).

this forum faces the same condition oso, but stil support all type of browser and best view in IE. Nothing i can do to fix the problem but the forum developer got the right to do so!

Well, about eLearn, the IT department is just freaking lazy. They made it back in 2001, and didn't bother to re-optimise the site to conform the standards of web 2.0. Hell, even the eComm is mostly Java-based, which is notorious for crashes.

If its such a bother, just use IE Tab for Firefox. I'm using Firefox equipped with some addons and I've never encountered such problems repeatedly for a site (unless the connection's crappy, then even some webcomics only loads half the image, had to surf another time to view it).


Anyways, you're right about some sites being optimised for certain browser. Firefox is the standard, though, its not unusual nowadays for site to run fine in Firefox but turns out crappy in IE.

And there's the problem of individual specs. What's in your pc, your software, plugins. I've had problems with eComm (announcement keeps showing up in half, while my other friends load it just fine). I updated to the latest Java and Flashplayer but some buttons (flash- based, most likely) won't show up.

hello there. i was given a link to this forum by a friend of mine and could not help but notice this thread. I am kind of interested in what the exact issue is here and am having difficulty understanding what is going on. Something about a "large picture" and only half of it shows. But as far as I can tell all the images are showing fully. Im running FF3 and Safari (for windows). everything looks fine for me. But if the issue is with a different post I've yet to see I'd like a link to it so I can see what the problem may be. Being that I do a bit of web development, I can testify to the fact that IE is crappy in terms of CSS coding and if that is the only browser that a developer tests their site on, it will look different on other browsers. And the same goes the other way around. If a developer only tests their CSS on firefox, it will usually look like poop on IE. There are work arounds to this though. I am curious if the admin here has access to editing the CSS style sheets and other coding or not? If so, I may be able to lend a hand as far as getting things straightened out for best support across all browsers.
