[ENGLISH] Shaping Debaters

Hey all

This thread is to discuss activities as part of our training to improve our debating skills. Obviously this is important to improve our performance at tournaments.

Here are some ideas about training:

• We shall try to organize debate practice once or twice every week.
  
• We will also try different debating styles, depending on the season(s).
  

Research is an important part of debate. An idea is:

• Assign 1 or 2 topics to a team.
  
• That team must find pros & cons, the context, resources etc
  
• The team must present it for everyone. Each group will get different topics.
  
• Hopefully this will help us generate fact sheets covering a wide range of topics.
  

Resources (this will be updated from time to time)

• KMC: Yes our library is RICH with resources. There are MANY books related to debating: terrorism, law, society, economics etc. There are also compilation of magazines like TIME, Newsweek, etc. These are stuff we should be looking out for.
  
• There are many sites for us to use:

been busy with tests lately n 3 more still 2 come next week!

When & where are either Asians? I think better talk it at the upcoming debate, or start a new thread.

btw nc cup final will be held at astaka, 8pm. hope everyone cn come 2 witness history in the making. we never had final in astaka. plus we need to gather crowd...huhu
