Intel VS AMD

any comments to Intel or AMD?? any different among them?

i knew bout that, it is Intel Celeron! just wan to know any1 prefer to celeron!!

i think not many of us will prefer on celeron...
celeron is just for simple user only.....
many of us are heavy user....
so...
i think many of them will choose both intel core 2 duo or amd phenom x4.....

what sector do u want.... notebook or desktop??? what purpose for your pc?? is it gaming?, working?, anything else???

for notebook sector there is 2 type(latest tech) which is centrino 2(intel) and turion ultra(AMD based system) This tech has their own pro and con....

for desktop there no typical type, just two major manufacturing intel and amd...

for latest tech, intel has been produce a fastest proc(but very expensive to start it, around 2500 for three thing, proc, motherboard and ram) which is core i7. amd has produce a phenom x4 II(or they call it dragon platform), but this month(if not delayed) their will announced new platform which is AM3 based system......

so for the app u want to run in ur pc, gaming and office, enuf two core, editing, video converting and more media based(HD coding, decoding and many more) use quad core....

that my opinion.....

AMD and Intel are quite different though tbh. When comparing the two, you can't look at only the internal clock speed. The bus is quite different. Intel has a longer bus, which can fit more data - but it takes longer to get from point A to point B. AMD has a shorter bus, which fits less data - but gets from point A to point B faster. So, a machine with a single core AMD processor at 3.0 GHz will run faster than an Intel machine at 3.0 GHz. (given that bus speeds are the same between the two.)

Intels philosiphy seems to be: "process more data at once"
AMDs philosiphy on the other hand seems to be "process data faster"

My machines have mostly been Intel though, with the exception of my Mom's laptop which I believe is an AMD dual core.

i think that true spikejone....

compare my pc, i feel like amd faster when processing data, even update... but when intel... feel a bit slower....

Nah, right now Intel is leading the race. It'll be interesting to see how AMD response, but Core series is just too hard to beat. They still have the server sector, but only time will tell.

As for me, I'll be content with my Intel Pentium Dual-Core, highly stable, power saving chips instead of AMD's power hungry and heat radiating chips. I gave up on solving most of my acquaintances problem concerning AMD chips, gave me quite a headache.

And I'm civil for god's sake, stop coming to me for problem, there's ton of computer students here. (just my rants, never mind.....)


Anyways, I'm all for Intel right now.

AM3 procs can be installed in AM2/AM2+ mobo..
AMD = practical oyeah~~

laptop baru aku guna AMD Turion x2 2.2GHz...

I've not heard any complaints from anyone concerning the recent AMD platforms. When AMD was new, this situation may have been true. As of recently, I do not think so.
