Narutard got kicked from my list the moment they put in those stinkin' fillers. And Gundam 00 is kinda good, if you ignore the faggot factor (near-impossible, though)

There are some real good anime out there, and Naruto isn't one of them (mainstream doesn't necessarily mean good).

I'd recommend Haruhi, though someone new to anime wouldn't be able to
comprehend it, though. Watch other KyoAni works, such as Kanon 2006
(one powerful kick to the heart), Clannad.

Geass ) if you don't know this series, get it, now.

The japanese name is Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu. Its famous, near legendary, to be precise.

Note the mass amount of Hare-Hare Yukai videos on youtube. The catchy ending is awesome.
