Streamyx Slow Internet Connection Troubleshooting

1) Bypass splitter/micro filter/fax machine/lightning protector.

2) Stand alone connection, from wall socket to modem (Means no parallel line, no spliter, no hub).

3) Flush DNS (Domain Name Server)
a) For Windows 98/ME:
- Click on “Start” button, go to “run”
- Type “winipcfg” and then click “OK”
- Select your network card name from the adapter drop-down menu
- Click on “Release” button
- The IP address should display 0.0.0.0. Then click “Renew All”
- Click “OK” to close the window

b) For Windows XP/2000:
- Click on “Start” button, go to “run”
- Type “command”, click “OK”
- Type in “ipconfig /flushdns”, then press “Enter”
- Make sure the result is “Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver cache”
- Type “exit” and press “Enter” to close the window screen

c) For Windows Vista:
- Click the Microsoft Vista Start logo in the bottom left corner of the screen
- Click “All Programs”
- Click “Accessories”
- Right-click on “Command Prompt”
- Select “Run As Administrator”
- In the command window, type in “ipconfig/flushdns”, then press “Enter”
- You should see the result “Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache”

d) For Mac OSX:
- Double click on “Macintosh HD”
- Click On “Applications”, followed by “Utilities”. Locate “Terminal.app”,double click it
- A new “Terminal” will open
- To IP Config: Type in “ifconfig” at the command prompt
- To Flush dns: Type in “lookupd -flushcache” at the command prompt

4) Switch off the modem, unplug/re-plug all cables, wait for 5 to 10 minutes before switching on the modem.

5) Configure DNS (Domain Name Server).
- (Preferred DNS Server: 202.188.0.133/Alternate DNS Server: 202.188.1.5)

6) Clear Temporary Files, Delete Cookies and Delete Files under Internet Options.


7) Clear SSL Certificates (Internet Option).
- Click on “Tools”
- Select “Internet Options”
- Click on “Content” tab
- Click on “Clear SSL State”
8)Restore default browser settings.
- Click on “Tools”
- Select “Internet Options”
- Select “Advanced”
- Click on “Restore Defaults”

9) Temporarily disable firewall settings.

10) Perform Windows scan.

11) Temporarily disable anti-virus software.

12) Disable P2P application.

13) Reboot computer and the modem.

14) Do a bandwidth test from our website as follows:
(http://202.188.95.52:8080/speedometer/)
If the result is below 70% of the required speed, please send an email to help@tm.com.my by attaching the result in kbits.
In order for Streamyx to streamline such matter, kindly run a ping (-n 30) command from your Streamyx connection to the game server and provide them with the result.
To run a Ping command:
1) Click Start
2) Click Run
3) type: cmd
or type: command [press Enter]
4) In MS-DOS prompt, type: ping {your game server address} -n 30 [press
Enter]
Basically these are the troubleshooting we should perform when facing slow connection.
Note: Please make sure whether your area is running an upgrade, fixing, or technical problem before you run these troubleshootings.

xpasti aa, biasanya staff sc tm tu akan suruh korang buat benda2 nie..pastu diorang akan restart port...

streamyx nie mmg penipu besar, masa buat promosi cakap unlimited, skrg diorang da buat limit utk p2p download, mmg sedih nampak speed download aku, aku da surf beberapa forum besar, sume da bising macam hell laa...sendiri xnak upgrade service tapi nak buat limit plak~

Harap2 p2p je la dia throttle, jgn DL pun dia nk slowkan. Kalo tk, naya la...

If P2P blocked, use torrific.com ... :) Download torrent without Utorrent, etc...

aku perasan sejak minggu lepas(or maybe 2 minggu) torrent download aku sangattttt~~ slow!

hanya 15kb/sec maximum, sedangkan sebelom ni 200kb/sec lebih..

why? why?

aku jika ade 4mb pun, besar kemungkinan aku tak amik..

even dgn 1mb ni pon aku dah tak puas hati, mana taknya...check download speed: 1mb/s..tapi bile actualy download any file: 100kb/s je.

aku baca dari comments dari torrent forumer, diorg speed download sama dgn speed yang mereka beli...

aku mati2 ingat dlod rate 1mb = 100kbps, 2mb=200kbps..

sbb tu member2 aku kat opis ni, yang pernah duk luar negara (japan, eu, us...) diorg ckp internet kat malaysia ni penipu..

kita beli package donlod speed 1mbps, by right sepatutnya any download mestilah around 1mbps, buktinya masa diorg kat oversea diorg layan tv3 live streaming no issue, siap tgk drama2 lagi sbb speed tenet mmg laju dan telus..

tapi nak wat camne, di malaysia yang dominasi line telefon ialah TM, so nak taknak kena gak kita korbankan duit kita, for a mere 100kbps download speed (RM110 tuuuuu)

anyway smlm torrent speed aku dah okay balik, ntah sbb ape..dpt la donlod rate 120kbps max (kalo org luar tgk download speed ni sure diorg gelak)

korang ni simbol B dan b kena letak betul2... B = byte, b = bit... 1B = 8b...

contohnya kalau 1mbps = 128 kBps....

sesapa yang duk di area ada unifi, sila2 la pakai unifi... gerenti puas hati....

erm? so yang betulnya 1MB/s ke atau 1Mb/s? siggy ko tulis Mb/s..download rate aku 100kb/s(betul ke?)
