Your Say: Homosexuality

Now that California's Prop 8 has been approved, it has raised outrage among the gay community not only in the US but the rest of the world. Let's see what you think.

Proposition 8 states that only a marriage between a man & a woman is legal & valid in California. About 18000 gay couples got married in California prior to Prop 8; the legality of their unions now hang in the balance.

While gay marriages aren't allowed, civil unions are; the question is why shouldn't marriage be extended to gay couples?

all human got their right to choose their life partner even they are same sex.

hmm... i think marriage is just like a higher ranking compare best fren. whr both trust each other more than other.... gay n lesbian im still ok coz mayb they rili found that the person they care n like is in same sex... but transexual is what i strongly disagree !!!...

God alredi hav make all man partner with woman and not man with man...we can't change what have God make for us...haha....and sumthing that makes my mind wondering that y exist homo and les in this world...do you same people that have same 'thing' that u have also..that make me want to vomit....haha

I'll be honest with y'all. I'm a pretty liberal person. I accept homosexuals, transexuals, bisexuals; you name it. As long as they don't go around killing, raping, stealing, beating, hurting other people (which is something the rest of us straight dudes do).

So I'm APPALLED & DISAPPOINTED that Prop 8 was approved.

IMO marriage is an institution between 2 PEOPLE, regardless of sexual orientation, who want to live together, cherish each other with a strong foundation based on love, trust & understanding.

It SICKENS me that the majority wants to ROB that choice of happiness from innocent people. What did gays to you anyway? They TOUCH you?

I respect that some religions are against homosexuality. I am a Buddhist & we focus on the good that people do, not their sexual orientation..."Be a light unto yourself"

In Christianity, the Lord says He will bring all His sheep home, He will not leave any behind.

Religion may hate gays because of the PEOPLE practicing it but God will never hate those He created.

I hope I didn't offend anyone, that's just my opinion on the issue. We have no right to deny ANYONE a chance to be happy.

my concept, marriage is like "frens forever", something like a "contract". so doesn matter if its btw guy-guy and girl-girl.

they are named "gay" because they "like" guy and not girl, he's just a gay being "frens 4eva" with another guy. LOL.

For crying out loud...Homosexuals are a MINORITY. The only difference is NOW THEY ARE MORE BRAVE TO SPEAK OUT & ADMIT THEIR SEXUALITY.

Obviously gays can't have babies the way heterosexuals do but that doesn't mean they are awful parents. In the US there are many gay couples with children (adopted, artificially conceived etc.).

I believe that one's sexual orientation is a natural & PERSONAL thing, as long as the relationship is consensual between both sides & brings a positive influence to both individuals, there's no reason why they can't have that legal link as a married couple.

Someone told me it's sad that so many people out there want to stop people who are in love from getting married, when many heterosexual people get married & divorce anyway for various reasons. Who's smearing the institution of marriage then?

^Classic case of homophobia: geli, malu etc.

1. I see nothing wrong with adopting children. These kids need a home & if there's a couple loving & dedicated enough to give that kid a good home, it shouldn't be a crime.

2. I'm not here to change anyone's minds. I support gay rights. I have gay friends & it saddens me that they can't be happily married because of a bunch of selfish (yeah you heard me, if you can't think about other people's happiness, you're downright selfish) people.

3. I hope that in time we will have more open-minded & liberal people. Until then, I hope the gay community will have the strength to survive such hostile treatment.

y did the ALMIGHTY GOD create homos in the first place? to be discriminated by HIS own religion? to be treated like a queer? to be tortured or persecuted for no reasons cuz they r WEIRD? and what? someone outta nowhere is gonna come out and say, theres a REASON for all of these? WHAT THE HELL IS THE REASON THEN? for pete's sake, ONCE IN A WHILE, USE UR DAMN HEAD AND THINK!!!!

if theres a ****ing reason for all of these, why cant the ALMIGHTY GOD ****ing tell us RITE NOW? why did he create such beings to be DISCRIMINATED and SCREWED OVER by HIS own religion? dun they have the rights to be HAPPY? seriously, i think all these homo-haters and 'my-religion-says-so-and-i-follow' ppl are selfish, self-centered and self-absorbed who think that this world ONLY BELONGS TO THEM and that they are the righteous, virtuous(DUH) and superior generation of the human race. HEYO??? we are way past the year 2000!!? do we seriously still have to put up with this close-mindedness of the century?

in case all these gay-haters forget, gays and lesbians are human beings too u know. its not like they were created by the ALMIGHTY GOD to be of lower ranks than we, the straight or 'non-queer' ppl, are.

If anything, God might have created gays for 2 reasons:

1. He makes them stronger to face the discrimination in various forms; verbal, physical lashings, even death.
2. He liberates humans who accept gays for it takes a lot of love & openness to accept humans who they consider weird/unnatural.

Over at another forum, this has gotten so crazy where this guy said he was once a gay but turned to religion, now he still has the gay urges but controls them. Yet he tells people we can change our sexual orientation. Sigh.

Naturally the gay community are outraged & insulted by his words...
