As reported earlier, the once 7-member idol group 2PM performed together
without their leader for the first time at the 2009 Dream Concert on
the 10th. Due to the controversial issue of Jaebeom's MySpace comments
that has still have a lingering effect on the nation, their performance
will not be aired on tv.

Fortunately, fancams have sprouted up on YouTube, enabling international Hottests to witness the performance for themselves.

Even though the boys had not been on stage for a while, their performance
was just like any other they had in the past. In terms of vocals and
choreography, the quality of the group's performance had not
deteriorated during their period away from the k-pop scene.

Of course, the absence of their leader made a significant difference on
the overall show that could not go unnoticed. Instead of having another
member replace Jaebeom's singing parts or cutting them out altogether,
the audio was left alone. The gap left by 'Leadja' was particularly
glaring at the end of the song, where his usual spot in the middle of
the group was completely vacant.

Reason why Big Bang opted for no-broadcast for Dream Concert


Many fans were curious as to why group Big Bang decided to have their performances edited out from the broadcast of Dream Concert 2009.
Dream Concert 2009 took place on 10th October in Seoul World Cup Stadium, and Big Bang
full team was there performing. But during the concert broadcast on
11th October at 3.3opm, their performances were edited out and not
broadcasted. Fans were looking forward to seeing the whole team perform
with DaeSung joining the team.
So what was the real reason for the no-broadcast?

It was explained that YG Entertainment has requested for the
no-broadcast. Back in August when they signed the contract to perform
at the concert, YG Entertainment had already requested for no-broadcast.
A Dream Concert staff said, “Every year, there will be entertainment
companies who will request for no-broadcast. There is no problem to
that.” And YG Entertainment also clarified, “Because it’s the
participation in such concert that is an important thing, we did not
put our mind for broadcast of the performances.”
They also added, “It is a rule in YG Entertainment for no-broadcast if it is not the official promotion period for Big Bang.”
But this was said to be ambiguous since Big Bang members went on
broadcast show ‘Strong Heart’ during the chuseok week, and their
performance as ‘Asian Song Festival’ in September was also aired. It
was only for Dream Concert where there was no broadcast of their
performance.
YG Entertainment then clarified, “Because it was DaeSung’s first
performance after his car accident, and he couldn’t dance well – Big
Bang was not at their normal or optimal condition. Because Big Bang
could not show their best features, we decided that there will be no
broadcast of their performance.”
Another group 2PM’s performances were also not broadcasted as their
leader member JaeBum left the group about a month back due to his
MySpace messages controversy.

Hee-chul (Super Junior), SHINee and f(x) was snapped at the Dream
Concert on October 10th. Sulli of girl group, f(x) posted it up on her
Me2day account (Twitter for Korea) to share with fans.

SHINee will be releasing their new mini-album, “2009, Year of us” on October 19th.

Kpop double-the-trouble in a day: KangIn and Shin HyeSung



This is the time for suffering (?) for male idol members.

Super Junior KangIn was charged for escaping after a drinking driving accident on 16th October, just a month following his assault case last month on 16th September.

ShinHwa member Shin HyeSung was also fined for gambling on 5 occasions up to a large gambling sum in Macau.

This is definitely a bad year for the boybands in Korea.

KangIn was drink driving at 3am on 16th October, and had ran into a stationary taxi. While that, he had got off his car and ran off before turning himself in at 8.50 am in KangNam police station. 6 hours after the car accident, his blood alcohol level was a recorded 0.082%.

It is said that KangIn will be going back to the police station for further investigation in the afternoon.

Also reported today is ShinHwa member Shin HyeSung who was fine 10 million KRW for gambling.

Apparently, Shin HyeSung has reported gambling on 5 occasions from July 2007 till April 2007 in a hotel in Macau, gambling up to a sum of 140 million KRW.

These 2 are not isolated cases. Before this, we have:

* 2PM JaeBum MySpace saga which had Jaebum leave the group and return to his hometown Seattle in America
* The cases of Big Bang GDragon’s plagiarism accusations on the songs from his solo debut album
* Big Bang DaeSung in car accident
* SS501 Kim Hyun Joong down with swine flu

Many are wondering when will all these unfateful events end for the boybands in 2009.

Super Junior KangIn’s official apology

Super Junior KangIn, who was recently involved in a DUI hit and run incident, making many fans shocked has released a statement.

On the morning of the 15th at 3am, was involved in a hit and run incident in the KangNam area while he was drunk. He hit a taxi and right after, he had taken off from the scene of the incident. It wasn’t until 6:50 am did he turn himself in to the police.

He was scheduled to show up for the investigation to the police but had never shown. However, it was to be known later on that he is scheduled to come for questioning on the 17th.

Kangin has released a personal statement on SMTOWN’s Super Junior homepage.

I have nothing to do or say other than apologize a thousand times.
I should have been careful after being involved in another bad scandal.
with the pain I have caused again, I can’t show my face

After the past incident, since I disappointed so much people I lived with guilt everyday
It was a time of pain for me. I wanted to forget that incident and pain.

To the fans that have supported me..
for you to see such a horrible person, I am filled with shame and distress.

SM Entertainment has released a statement about the incident with Kangin and has said,

With this new incident of kangin, it is something we feel so sad for and for such a repulsive act to happen, we apologize for this. The company and Kangin think that with the investigation, we think it is best for us to be given time. We are very sorry and will try in the future to prevent such an issue to happen again.

SS501, “About Dong Bang Shin Ki, because we are colleagues it is saddening”

SS501 expressed their feelings about group Dong Bang Shin Ki amidst this time where they are in danger of disbandment.
During their 1st Asia concert tour Persona concert press conference in Taiwan Taipei on 17th October, SS501 said, “Dong Bang Shin Ki is
the representative group in Korea, and now that they are in such an
uncertain time, as colleagues we feel sad about it. We hope that the
situation will turn out well eventually.”

SS501 and Dong Bang Shin Ki have been put in comparison since the 2
group’s debut. But recently with the ongoing trial between the 3
members from Dong Bang Shin Ki and their management company, SS501 has
also shown concern to the situation.
SS501 also spoke about recent cases of idol group members and their
mishaps and mistakes, “Even though a mistake is a mistake, sometimes we
are also under a lot of finger-pointing. Even so, we feel that
entertainers should be careful with their actions and words.”
